A congressional report published on ESS casualties

National Assembly Research Service, an independent research agency to strengthen the National Assembly’s legislative capabilities and expertise, published a report analyzing Korea’s ESS policies and providing suggestions. The report pointed out that the current ESS policy is facing a lack of economic feasibility, frequent casualty, negative impact on the grid system, and weak demand side management.

The report suggested ○validating the impact ESS is giving to the grid ○developing policy about compensation to owners who suspended ESS operation complying with government recommendations after ESS accidents ○enhancing safety measures and software for the safe operation of ESS facilities.
