Korean copper foil maker Doosan Solus has secured a cash “incentive” of approximately KRW 34 billion from the Hungarian government (HIPA, Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency) to expand a battery foil factory there, Korean media Seoul Economic Daily reported. The incentive, which will be given in the coming October, includes tax exemption and grants, and the company is planning to use it to ramp up the production. The factory’s current capacity is at 10,000-ton level, and Doosan Solus will expand it to 25,000-ton by 2022 and 75,000-ton by 2025.
