KIGAM: Cheaper, safer way to produce high purity graphite

Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) developed a new way to produce high purity graphite, which is a core material for batteries, without using highly dangerous hydrofluoric acid. The research team successfully produced over 99.99% graphite at a 70% cost compared to the conventional method.
