The Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun visited the Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy to host a signing ceremony between the Ministry of National Defense (MND), MOTIE, ME, Hyundai Motor Company, and Doosan Mobility Innovation (Doosan’s UAV hydrogen fuel cell company). Signatories agreed to cooperate in promoting the use of hydrogen in military operations.

Hyundai explained that MND will purchase 10 hydrogen cars (buses) by 2021 in a pilot program. The ministry will also explore the possibility of military use of hydrogen drones. MND will provide land near Jaundae (military base) for the construction of a hydrogen recharging station, which is open to both civil and military uses. MND is planning to expand the use of hydrogen vehicles and fuel cell power plants in its operations.
