A giant supermarket chain will add more rooftop PVs

Korea’s one of largest retailer, LOTTE Mart pledged to add more rooftop PV installations. According to its ‘resource cycle project’ manifested on June 8, the company will decrease the use of plastic and the food waste by 50% and 30% respectively until 2025.

More importantly, it will install rooftop PV facilities to 60 stores by 2021. Already 39 LOTTE Mart stores have PV installations on their rooftops, producing electricity enough to feed 1,600 homes. LOTTE Mart’s 120 stores have EV recharging facilities, and one of them in Yeongdeungpo is integrated with a rooftop PV.
