Seoul has installed 288 units of PV paving blocks and LED lights along a bikeway in Ttukseom Hangang Park. The block is developed by a Korean company, and features IP68-rated waterproof as well as high strength and durability, the city government said. The city will constantly monitor the yield and durability of the blocks to gain useful insights.
The city also has built ‘Solar Square’ in the park, installing 1,171 units of PV blocks. The total capacity of the blocks amounts to 13.35kW (1,171×11.4W), producing 59.7kWh of green electricity per day. The facility will provide a light show to citezens in night times throughout the year.
Ttukseom Hangang Park has many PV related facilities including EV recharging stations powered by solar.
