Korea Western Power plans foray into the Swedish wind market

Korea Western Power signed an MOU with NH-Amundi Asset Management for the joint investment into a 240MW onshore wind project in Sweden. The project, which is taking place in the central region of Sweden, is under construction for the completion in the second half of this year. Korea Western Power is participating as a strategic investor, which will take charge of O&M services and asset management after construction. Korea Western Power added that the wind project has already bagged 29-year PPA to sell power to Nordic electricity market.

The company is planning to start the full-fledged foray into the European renewable market. The utility’s ‘master plan’ seeks to develop 8GW capacity outside of the country by 2030.
